Gineen Abuali is a fourth-year undergraduate student at Saint Peter’s University where she is studying history and political science. She is an active member of the Muslim Student Association, the Students for Peace and Justice Club, and the Student Government Association, where she represents the voices of Muslim women on campus. Gineen is dedicated to the fight for human rights through her writing and work. She seeks to continue that fight through her future work as an attorney. Website

Lillian E. Agosto Maldonado has a bachelor’s degree in Information and Journalism from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus, and a master’s degree in Puerto Rican and Caribbean Studies from the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in Old San Juan. She has worked as a journalist for the newspapers Primera Hora and Index of the Ferré Rangel Media Group (GFR Media). She has also written for local and international newspapers such as Diálogo, Univision Radio, Hispanic LA, ESPN, Spotlight on Poverty, EdSurge, Fit in 2 Worlds, Borderzine, Hip Latina, and Buena Vibra. She has participated in journalism organizations such as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and has stood out in conferences such as the Latin American Federation of Social Communication Faculties (FELAFACS) in Havana, Cuba. Website

Dr. Aurelus is an alumna of Wagner College, where she earned her MSN in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She received her DNP in Advanced Nursing Practice from Arizona State University. She went on to receive her Post-Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health from Arizona State University. Dr. Aurelus is dually board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Aurelus has extensive experience in both primary care and psychiatric mental health. She has worked at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital and with the Department of Corrections, Perryville Prison, which is the only female prison in Arizona. Her doctoral research focused on weight gain prevention induced by antipsychotic medications. Dr. Aurelus is the author of multiple peer-reviewed researched articles. Among them, “A Decade of Cirrhosis”, the study for which she was the recipient of the competitive Mauren Robinson Faculty Fellowship 2019-2020. She presented this study in Athens, Greece during a week conference, where she also chaired a session. Professor Ballester-Panelli teaches at the Escuela de Comunicación Ferré Rangel at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. She holds a B.A. in advertising from the University of the Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico and a master’s in advertising from Michigan State University. She is currently in the process of submitting her research proposal for her dissertation at Universidad Iberoamericana. Rhonda E. Baylor holds a PhD. in Educational Psychology from Howard University. In addition, she earned an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University, an M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Morgan State University. Dr. Baylor has over 15 years of higher education teaching and education research experience. Dr. Baylor’s research focuses on teaching and learning. Furthermore, she has several publications and book chapters. Also, she has presented at various conferences throughout the nation. Dr. Baylor conducts quantitative research, qualitative research, and mixed-methods research that contributes to the education paradigm. Even more specifically, she has experience with survey design and program evaluation. She has taught statistics and research methodology to undergraduate students, as well as to graduate students. She has successfully assisted many students through the dissertation process. She has also conducted education research and engaged in data analysis for many clients on the local level, state level, and at the federal level. Dr. Baylor has also served as an editorial board member and reviewer for education journals. Professor Brugueras-Fabre is a professor in the department of business administration where she teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics, global economics, and research among others. She is also a consultant on economic affairs and market research and is a founding partner of Top Brains firm that specializes in these fields. She has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras and completed doctoral studies in business administration from the same institution and in second language research from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. She is a collaborator of the Alliance for Education in Economics and Personal Finance, promoted by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she offers workshops to teachers from both the public and private systems. Faculty page

Naniette H. Coleman is a PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work sits at the intersection of the sociology of culture and organizations and focuses on cybersecurity, surveillance, and privacy in the US context. Specifically Naniette’s research examines how organizations assess risk, make decisions, and respond to data breaches and organizational compliance with state, federal, and international privacy laws. Naniette holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Democracy, Politics, and Institutions from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and both an M.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Communication from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. A non-traditional student, Naniette’s prior professional experience includes local, state, and federal service, as well as work for two international organizations, and two universities. Website

Elycia Daniel is an experienced specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is skilled in educational technology, training, adult education, public speaking, and grant writing. Chiara De Santi teaches Italian language, culture, cinema, and international cinema. She received her Ph.D. in Italian from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Ph.D. in history, and a master’s of research from the European University Institute. She also earned a Laurea Magistralis (M.A. equivalent) in foreign languages and literature from the University of Florence. Evi Dilaveri has been a member of the Deree Writing Program faculty since 1990; she teaches academic writing and research skills. She has also taught study skills courses and has worked as a writing and study skills tutor for the Writing Center. She is currently the Coordinator of the Writing Program.

Her academic interests lie in the areas of writing theory and pedagogy, classroom dynamics, learning differences, tutoring (face to face and online), and the use of technology in teaching and research. Monique Earl-Lewis is the Founding Director of the Faculty Development. Teaching and Advising Center at Morehouse College and teaches interdisciplinary courses in Africana Studies, the Freshmen Year Experience and Psychology. She received her PhD in Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology; a masters of science in Counseling and Behavioral Studies from the University of South Alabama; and a bachelors in Speech Communication from Auburn University.

Her applied research and practice focus on learning organizations, integrated techno-cultural-pedagogical practice to advance social justice and equity through active communities of learning and authentic participation engagement. Email

Pedro Fraile Romeu is a professor in the department of Business Administration. His distinguished academic and professional preparation includes a Ph.D. in Business Development Philosophy from the Inter-American University. He holds a master’s degree in International Business Management from the European Business School Forum of Navarra, Huarte, Spain. He also has a master’s degree in Information Systems Management from the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón and another master’s degree in Pedagogical Research and Evaluation from the University of Puerto Rico. Despina Gavrili has been a member of the faculty since 2005. She has taught courses in the area of Marketing Management and Tourism and Hospitality Management. Her current teaching involves such courses as Tourism Planning and Development, Hospitality Operations, Food and Beverage Management, Cultural Tourism. Her research interests lie in the areas of cultural tourism and of experiential learning, with recent publications in both areas.

She has 15-years working experience in various managerial positions in the Wine, Tourism and Hospitality industry. She has been a member of the Association of Greek Women in Tourism, the efforts of which created the Museum of Tourism. Faculty page

Maira Kotsovoulou has been a member of the Deree faculty since 1996 and has taught across the curriculum. She currently teaches Introduction to Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms, Internet Programming and the IT Capstone Project. Anastasia Logotheti has been a member of the English department since 1989, teaching literature and writing courses. She studied for her MA in the US as a Fulbright scholar; she holds a doctorate in contemporary British literature from the University of London. In the last ten years Dr Logotheti has presented over thirty-five papers and has organized and moderated panels in major international conferences. She is a contributor to the Literary Encyclopedia and has published chapters in various volumes on twentieth-century English literature; her book on the fiction of Graham Swift is forthcoming.

Dr. Logotheti views teaching as a vocation and seeks to empower students and encourage them to become autonomous learners. In recent semesters she has taught courses as diverse as Critical Theory, Shakespeare Tragedies, Tradition and Innovation in the English Novel, and Fairy Tales in Post-modernity. Dr Logotheti is also interested in the pedagogy of teaching, applications of academic computing, and information literacies, interests which informed her tenure first as the Coordinator of the two Writing Centers (2003-2010) and currently as the Director of the Teaching and Learning Center. Faculty page

Despina Makri has been a member of the Deree faculty since 1998 and she has taught many courses across the curriculum. She currently teaches introductory computer courses, business information systems and e-commerce for the Computer Information Systems department, digital media and game design courses for the Information Technology department as well as multimedia concepts for the Communication’s department. Colleen Martinez is a licensed clinical social worker and a registered play therapist supervisor with 25 years of experience providing clinical services to children and their families. She has worked in hospital, correctional, outpatient mental health, private practice, summer camp, home based and school settings, and she specializes in play therapy and treating traumatized children. She is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Ramapo College of New Jersey. In her private practice, she provides training, supervision and consultation to individuals, agencies, summer camps and schools to ensure that children and their families receive high quality services. Faculty page

Amanda Masino’s research background includes work in cell biology, genetics, and developmental biology. As an undergraduate at Texas A&M University, she studied chromosome rearrangements and their contribution to speciation. She completed her doctoral research detailing the genetics of early heart development at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, then investigated cardiac stem cell biology at the University of Washington before joining the HT faculty in 2011. Her current research investigates the genetic diversity of microbial populations.

Amanda Masino is a proud member of HT’s Environmental Studies faculty. She advances environmental education by blending environmental science and community action. She is Co-Director of the Dumpster Project, an education initiative that is transforming a used trash dumpster into a sustainable home as a K-16 environmental education platform and public engagement tool. She co-advises HT’s environmental student group Green is the New Black with Karen Magid and Dominique Bowman, and co-founded the Building Green Justice Forum, a conference series that highlights local environmental justice issues. Faculty page

Lourdes Medina is an Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering at University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez and leader of the IDDEAS Research Group and RealTimePC outreach initiatives. She is passionate about human-centered design, decision analysis and complexity thinking metrics. She teaches medical device design, project management and process automation with an innovation and entrepreneurship mindset.Amanda Masino leads a National Science Foundation-funded program that infuses student research training into HT’s Natural Science curriculum. She directs the STEM Research Scholars program, which provides science, technology, engineering and math majors with mentored undergraduate research experiences. Anna Moni has been a member of the Modern Languages faculty since 1996. She teaches the Italian language and culture and is Coordinator of the Program of Modern languages as of 2011. Her interests include developing speaking and writing skills, e-learning, intercultural learning, and the creation of authentic teaching materials. She has a long experience in pedagogy of teaching the Italian language in online programs at a Masters level at the University of Venice. She has been an examiner for certifications of the Italian language at all levels for the University of Perugia and the KPG of the Hellenic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. Ms. Moni has been training teachers and creating exams for the Italian Cultural Institute, the cultural section of the Italian Embassy. She has written several Italian language textbooks at elementary and intermediate level. Brian O’Keefe is currently an Assistant Professor of Interaction Design, leading State University of New York’s first undergraduate Interaction Design Program (Mixed Reality, User Experience, User Interface and Instructional Design).

Vassilia Stefanou has been a member of the Deree Management Information Systems faculty since 1996, and has taught across the curriculum. She currently teaches Human-Computer Interaction, Business Information Systems, Data Management and IT for Business, and Introduction to Information Systems, and she is an active member of the Deree academic community.

Professor Stefanou has participated in various research projects and has published papers in distinguished journals. She is also currently working part-time towards a distance learning PhD in e-research and Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University, U.K. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, the areas of Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, e-learning, blended learning, and technology enhanced learning (TEL).

David Surrey’s formal training in Anthropology and Sociology has allowed him to investigate a variety of related topics. These topics include Globalization, desegregation, ethnicity , housing, urban history, education, evolution, the Vietnam Era, indigenous cultures, migration/undocumented – all his research is now Participation Action Research where the “subjects” are part of the research team. While these issues may appear to be diverse, to him the unifying theme is stratification of societies and structural discrimination. Each topic, and he has a hard time separating them, is connected by social forces at a local, national and international level. Faculty page

Dr. Tully received her BS in Accounting from Seton Hall University and MBA in Finance from Pace University. After a career in risk management at a major brokerage firm in Manhattan, Dr. Tully pursued a DPS in Finance at Pace University. Prior to joining the faculty at Wagner College, she had been a faculty member at several Universities in the metropolitan area, teaching finance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Tully is an active researcher in the fields of finance and business pedagogy. She presents her research at national and international conferences and has published many articles in peer reviewed journals as coauthor with colleagues as well as sole author. Dr. Tully is an active member of the Wagner community where she serves as a member of Priorities and Budget committee, Academic Review Committee member, mentor to new faculty and Advisor and career mentor to our students. She is an active member in the Wagner Plan, teaching at various times in FYP, ILC and SLC. Ebru Ulusoy is an Assistant Professor in the Business Management Department. Dr. Ulusoy joined Farmingdale State College in Fall 2016. She earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from University of Texas – Pan American (which is currently University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley). Dr. Ulusoy received a master’s degree in Production Management and Marketing from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. She received her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey. Before joining the School of Business at Farmingdale State College, Dr. Ulusoy served as an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Maine Business School at the University of Maine. Dr. Ulusoy also has professional experiences as Assistant Production Manager at a TV channel, and as an account manager in the oldest Public Relations firm in Turkey. Faculty page

Dr. Angela Walker was born in Mobile, Alabama to Lottie Woodard and the late Alexander Woodard, Jr., but she was raised in Daphne, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in merchandising with a minor in Management and Marketing, and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration with a minor in Business Administration from Jacksonville State University (JSU). The former JSU homecoming queen and volleyball standout went on to earn a Doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama. Dr. Walker is extremely proud of the fact that she earned each of her college degrees debt-free.

Dr. Walker has passionately worked in the field of higher education in various capacities since the early 90s. Currently, she is Chair of the Public Administration Department, Assistant to the Provost/VP for Academic Affairs, Faculty Development Coordinator, and Faculty Representative to the Board of Trustees at Talladega College. She is certified in Effective Teaching Practices. The certification is co-sponsored by The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and The American Council on Education (ACE) Dr. Walker is also the author of There is Lyfe After Death: Moving Forward After A Miscarriage, and she is an ordained minister. Faculty page
